Yesterday we shared Part 1 of Amanda and Simon’s Lake Louise Winter Wedding. Today we are sharing their reception details at the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise.
With the arrival of colder temperatures and Christmas mere days away, the Chateau’s common areas were festively decorated, and it was surprisingly quiet and cozy! Amanda and Simon treated their guests to a private dinner in the Lefroy room.
From the start Amanda had a vision for her wedding decor: vintage, colorful and quirky! With that notion in mind Amanda scoured the internet and Etsy for interesting “bits and bobs” that would work with her theme. She found some lovely (and cute!) felted woodland creatures that fit perfectly amongst the vintage doilies and china.
I love the two felties Amanda chose for her and Simon. Two cute “love bunnies”!
The felted animals doubled as guest favours and Amanda thoughtfully chose each creature with care for her guests. I love this sweet shot by Orange Girl of a felted mouse in a tea cup!
Over the course of the year Amanda collected vintage crocheted doilies (and we found a few to supplement). The doilies were used to create a lovely, layered table runner. With it not being practical for Amanda to carry vintage china pieces with her, we collected an eclectic mix of vintage china pieces for her that we found at various thrift shops. We even used a few pieces from family heirlooms. The Chateau’s vintage silverware fit perfectly at each place setting.
Amanda had also found some cute felted place card holders and fun vintage 1950’s, “space” napkins. Both were a hit with the children and sci-fi lovers alike!
The fun thing about vintage wedding place settings is that even if you don’t have a full set of china, you can mix and match for an eclectic look!
When Amanda and I had difficulty sourcing colorful chair ties, Amanda’s mother offered to sew them for her. They looked fabulous!
I love that Amanda and Simon put so much of themselves into their wedding. One thoughtful feature was framed photographs of their parent’s on their wedding days and photos of family who were unable to attend.
Amanda commissioned Barbara Laberge from Cake Creations to make this amazing ‘Snowflake Tree’ wedding cake. Barb made each snowflake by hand and made the cute ‘snow couple’ to complete the masterpiece!
Amanda and Simon, thank you for letting us share in your special day! We wish you a lifetime of happiness. Hope you are warm today!
Thanks for stopping by!
Happy Planning!
