Yesterday we shared Part 1 of Michelle and Jon’s beautiful Emerald Lake Lodge wedding, photographed by the talented Terence Law of T.Law Photography. Today we’re sharing more of Terence’s great photos, as well as some reception decor.
Michelle and Jon’s decor was inspired by the natural beauty of Emerald Lake, taking a cue from the abundant hues of blues and green found all around. Michelle knew from the start she wanted to include the colour” greyed jade” and was thrilled when she found the perfect color for her bridesmaids’ dresses. She was also very fond of the simple beauty of baby’s breath and knew it was something she would like to include on her special day. We had the perfect starting point for the rest of her decor!

Michelle had a good idea of what she wanted and it was only a matter of narrowing down the focus to come up with a cohesive design. She finally settled on a natural, french “provencal” inspired design which, I think, worked beautifully in the space at Emerald Lake Lodge.
Michelle, a nutritionist, wanted to keep a natural, organic feel to her decor. A white, ivory and green color palette was decided on.
We found beautiful lace linens and kept the flowers decidedly simple. In keeping with the french provencal theme, one of my favorite additions to Michelle and Jon’s tables were the natural, maple wood cutting boards that we made to hold loaves of freshly baked bread.
We also added some sweet details like the personalized canvas bride and groom signs we made for the couple’s sweetheart table. Did I mention I love sweetheart tables? They’re just so intimate and romantic!
I loved how the room came together with the natural chivari chairs. The VP room at the main lodge had a light, fresh and airy feel…perfect for a summer wedding! The bride and groom chairs were a surprise for Michelle and Jon. I made them out of small scraps of canvas.
The room smelled amazing thanks to the fresh herbs, like the ones found tucked into the couple’s wedding menus (which Michelle designed herself)!
We couldn’t find the right size window frame for a seating chart, so we made one! The beautiful flowers were from Calgary florist Michele Masterson at Blue Hydrangea. I’ve been a fan of Michele’s work for several years now!
The beautiful cake, adorned with fresh herbs, was made by Barbara Laberge (former owner and designer at Cake Creations in Canmore). We made the vintage looking cake stand especially for this cake!
It was our immense pleasure to assist you on your wedding, Michelle and Jon! You are an awesome couple and we love you! Wishing you many years of happiness together!
